im quite happy with my 40/12/48 liteon cdrw, its fast and has the underbuff protection, theres now a 48/12/48 liteon, but its stupid, theres no disks out yet that support 48x (yet)
theres also the aopen cdrw 40/12/48, £10 more, but i would personally go for the liteon,

Plextor have updated the 40s to a 40max, about £65 from Aria. I've had the Artec 16x DVD (IDE) recommended to me for all round readability of discs.
o right
im using the liteon 16x dvd drive, cost me £44.99

Very fast and you can grab it for as little as £29.99 if you shop around.
Understeer is when you hit a wall with the front of your car
Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the back of your car
Horsepower is how fast your car hits the wall
Torque is how far your car sends the wall across the field once you've hit it
so it other words i got ripped of with the price £44.99

Right now I got the Liteon 48x12x48 as me burner and a Kenwood 75x cd-r IT'S FOOKING FAST! but the cds get somewhat warm but it's great
i would recommend a 16x pioneer dvd-r drive cause they can match the speed of the burner
please pm 4me2, ABCMan or Czarjunkie with an explanation why you failed to post or request help posting the email headers of the email you mentioned (along with the full headers) too late Ive banned him after no response for 48 hours (4me2)
I have a Pioneer 16x dvd rom it is a bag of shit and can not read hardly any brand of dvd blanks
is anyone still selling the kenwoods i heard they were not much good for reading protected stuff

You obviously come from the old school of SCSI which blows EIDE away. I'm still trying to get used to my Mitsumi EIDE (see my fastest CDR thread) because EIDE is crap.
Anyway, you'll be pleased to know that Yamaha have released a 44x SCSI burner. Its EIDE with a SCSI adapter !!!
