Another Toy Story?
A sneak peek at the plot for Disney/Pixar's possible second sequel to Toy Story.
October 01, 2002 - Disney expert Jim Hill has scored a big Disney/Pixar scoop, hinting that a second sequel to Toy Story could be on its way to the big screen. You might think a second sequel would be a given, due to Toy Story 2's $485 million worldwide take, but that doesn't take into account all the behind-the-scenes machinations and drama between Pixar and Disney
So, if they do go ahead with the film, just what would it be about? In a recent op-ed piece on his site, Jim Hill reveals that the film's script will likely be derived from the ending of the original treatment for Toy Story. Simply put, it deals with what happens to the toys when Andy grows up. In the original treatment, Jim says, "[The toys] have survived encounters with obnoxious dogs, obsessive toy collectors, being separated from the kids that love them, even tumbling out a garbage truck into speeding traffic – and they really deserve a break. After their long ordeal, these characters deserve to find a loving home where there will always be kids to play with them."
The toys find a permanent home in a preschool, where there will always be children to play with and love them. Don't that just bring a tear to the eye? The best part of the deal, for the toys, is that the kids go home at end of every day – then it's party time.
