Sorry to disappoint, but you and many others are so wrong on this point.

I guess this rumour is like one of those urban myths where someone knows someone who knows someone who knows someone who knows someone that jizzed in the apple pie mix at Mr Kipling’s…

Understandable when regarded in the context of such a massive football club of ledgends and sheer capacity for playing the best football in the world.

Manchester United is still a Professional Football Club.

Along with Alderley Urban Investments Ltd, Man United Ltd, Manchester United Catering Ltd, Manchester United International Ltd, Manchester United Themed Restaurants Ltd, MUFC Ltd, and Red Cafe Ltd, Manchester United Football Club Ltd is part of Manchester United Plc.

To summarise, Manchester United Football Club is still a registered professional football club with a Registration Number of 00095489, a D-U-N-S Number of 227555133, and an address of Sir Matt Busby Way, Old Trafford, Manchester, Lancashire, M16 0RA, United Kingdom.

It looks like Liverpool and other clubs are attempting to follow ManU's lead as Liverpool Football Club Ltd is now part of Liverpool FC & Athletic Grounds Plc. This is better than previously (1990s) when Liverpool were part of the Moore's family sporting section, together with Everton - how very embarassing.

Think what Webslinger is getting at is Manchester United are more of a PLC than an FC!

Liverpool are privately owned, and Arsenal are some funky collection of bond holders.

sorry web, I thought that you were trying to say that ManU were no longer a FC and were purely a PLC.

Yes the logo has changed (not for the first time in history) so that there are fewer words meaning that the words Manchester United can be bigger.

    lol -

i just think its amusing that the club (company) decided to remove the FC from its badge.....and ina way - it just helped fuel the old chesnut of Man Utd being soley interested in revenue.

well just for the record boys i'm not sure when this "fc" badge was in use as the old badge said "Manchester United" across the top and "football club" around the bottom.

i found this one on the current uefa champions league site and thought it quite unusual. sort of half the old badge and half the new.

we will always be football club but now the clubs badge can also be used as the corporate logo!
