Just built a P4 2.5ghz rig and I must say, I'm well impressed.
So far I've taken it up to 2.7ghz and reached 15023 3dmarks.

anyone care to do better?

very impressive benchmark
gonna be building a similar p4 based machine in the near future but using geforce 4 4600 gfx i will see how that compares
should be interesting
WOOOOHOOOOO!!!!
THATS IS JUST FAAAANTASTIC

For anyway whos interested, here's my bios settings
FSB @ 152 (2891mhz)
PCI/AGP locked to 33mhz
DRAM Ratio H/W Strap set to Low with 3:4 ratio
1.55 vcore
2.7 vdimm
Timings are 2.5-7-3-3
Those RAM Timings could probably be increased now, should get a even higher score then
Spike_Uk,
Any reason you are not using 3Dmark 2002 ?
I was just wondering, as it is the latest version, and because it's a different benchmark, it's scores are different to 2001 and therefore the 2 can't really be compared.
Still a blinding score you got in 2001 though.
DONUTS :) ------ Is there anything they can't do ??
Why not just buy the 2.8Ghz chip?
I've never understood overclockers lol
I bet this computer would whoop yours

There isn't a 3D Mark 2002, there's PC Mark 2002 but no 3D Mark.
The next version of 3D Mark will be 2003 and will be DirectX 9 based.

i think i could easily break 16k with a bit of tweaking but i'm not too fussed
Exactly, what is the point in buying the latest hardware, and then immediately start overclocking it? The same goes for video cards.....Originally posted by WTD

Must be the "locker room" syndrome
“If I asked you to have sex with me, would the answer to that question be the same as the answer to this question?”
i think it's just the challenge more or less the same as tuning your car or bike for more speed it's the same princeple i suppose if you want a faster bike/car go buy a faster one but where's the challenge in that
if i can buy a p4 2.4 gig cpu for £160 and clock it to 2.8 / 3 gig then a save a pile o money so for me there's a definite advantage in overclocking
but that's me and everybody has there own way of going about things

I'd always be worried about breaking things, so definitely not for me this

well it is a risk you take but if you don't go mad things are usually ok the best thing to do is read what other people have done and at what point they broke there's and don't go that far.Originally posted by cronus71

as long as you overclock in small increases like taking the FSB up 1mhz at a time and by keeping an eye on your temps then you shouldn't get any problems.
