Hahaha, too funny, XBox has been online as well, and FREE using XBConnect.
Thank you, YOUR too kind.. hehehehe
No thanks. I have Socom and the net adapter and the hiccups annoy me. I'd prefer a dedicated server like the Live!. Sony's too new to this and it is showing. Have you visited gaming-age lately? Seems not too many PS2 network happy users. At least with Xbox live!, the $50 goes towards many games the first year plus we get the ability to easily update stats, patches, etc thanks to the built-in hard drive.
So if you were expecting a bleep-fest flame, fuhgedabudit.
For $35 (PS2 net adapter) and all that hype, I was expecting better.

yea id rather pay for a service than use a free one...
I own both the PS2 and the XBOX, first of all PS2 online is a joke compared to the PC or the XBOX. The only people that might like SOCOM are people who have never seen a game run on a PC or even a good game on the XBOX. The PS2 online is a joke, first off just to get online and play a game its gonna cost you $350+ after you buy all the neccessary shit and 1 fukking game(SOCOM which isnt very good online). Sony should have just waited till PS3 to worry about online.
marc.. you proved a good point...
All though with xbox live you do have to purchase a starter kit..
but it wont cost ya alot to get it.. i hear its around $50.00
but with the ps2 you have to buy an addon..
which is around $350??
the xbox online is better because it does not take a big chunk out of your wallet right off the bat...
first off...kildor your a moron...the network adapter for ps2 is $35, and socom is around $60. PS2 SUUUUUUUUCKS online!!! Ive been playin it since the day it came out and lemme tell u...WASTE OF MONEY!! Ive also been playin halo online though gamespy and that has less problems than ps2 and THAT ISNT EVEN LISCENSED BY M$!! If an unliscenced product can do better than a fat cat like ps2 then that tells you alot. I also have the beta for xbox live and that is insane!...no hiccups, no laggin...very smooth and ITS JUST THE TESTING VERSION!! cant wait for the full version to come out so I cn play other people! all ps2 owners, save your $100, dont buy socom or the network adapter. instead put that $100 towards an xbox, and save alittle more for because live isnt a reality until november anyay so you got time. believe me it will be well worth it!
ok slipknot fine i may of been wrong but you dont have to go act like a JERK ABOUT IT!!!!!
yes he did. welcome to isonews, where if you make a stupid comment, you get a virtual dildo rammed up your arse!
dont forget with the 50$ startup kit you get a very nice microphone for live chat with cool features that block others voices or modify your own if yo u are a geek lol... anyways, included in the 50$ startup kit is ONE YEAR PAID FOR on your live account...12 months free...booya
The way I was looking at it when I bought my Xbox. At the price point of view, to buy a system with DVD capabilities and internet gaming. (It didn't take me long to relize that the Xbox was my best choice.)
PS2 $200
Mem card $25
Net adapter $40
It come to $265 for the PS2
Xbox $200
DVD Kit $30
Live Kit $50
This one is $280
If you want to make things fair you can add a remote for the PS2 since the DVD kit come with one for Xbox.
The two come to about the same price for simular capabilities, with the exeption of the HHD for the PS2, that will run you $80+.
