Default Win XP Home Edition / Compaq Install Partition ?

    Hi,

I have an old Compaq Presario where the Win XP install info and other applications shipped with the PC was in a separate partition on the hard drive. However, due to a reformat of the whole hard drive this data was lost.

Are there any downloads where I could possibly obtain a Win XP Home iso or preferably an iso for the actual Compaq installation partition data ? I have the product key on the PC case so its just the installation media excluding activation that I need.

The PC is quite old and no longer supported by Compaq

    Rgds

Give compaq a ring/email. they could poss send you out a service cd. that will only work on that model. This will reset all the parttition info and copy over the bits and pieces that you formatted over. Just make sure you have the correct model number as i tried it on a lappy and the disk seemed to work till i rebooted it and it told me that the service cd was not for this model
