Default Suggestions for new ps2 hame for 8 year old

A friend has asked me what ps2 games I can recommend for a 8 year old - unfortunatley I'm a bit older than that and my ps2 has been gathering dust for the last few months, so I haven't been keeping up on new games.

    Anyone got any suggestions ?

There's a new Rayman Arena game which I always found popular for kids as well as a few puzzle games like Egg Mania and Super Bust A Move 2.

Also a new Superman game came out and I guess there's always Spiderman too.

kids love the new superman game but get frustrated, they will easly pick up and play (wait for it) GTA3, last them for months and months, as u dont have to do anything on it, its more or less an idiots game:
batman/spiderman i see them getting stressed sometimes, yet to try egg mania have it lying about somewhere tho from what i'v read its like super monkey ball (surely u have seen that)
they like beatem ups like the new tekken 4, just go for any pick up and play, games which arnt to plot based

I did my best on Jak and daxter but I gave up after a while - still a very high quality game - there's just something about the simpler less strategic games that can make them really fun - even for older 'kids'

I thought of Fur Fighters but then again that might be a little involved for an 8yr old - looks fantastic tho
