CONTRA Shattered Soldier BETA, does it work fine ???

GREAT game..i will be buying the original when it's released...... very very good game...

just make sure to remove your memcard on boot.

The beta is AMAZING. Its completely in English, and looks very polished. Movies and cut scenes are all there.

This game is very difficult however! As you play the game, you can unlock extra default charactersso that instead of starting with 3 lives, you can start with 4, 5 or 6 lives. I'm guessing you can also unlock extra continues and other goodies (an extra weapon maybe?)

You can choose from 4 levels to start, and if you beat all 4 levels on that set of continues then a 5th level opens up. I have progressed fairly far into the 5th level but cant beat it YET!

The game hints that this is the final level, but I have a sneaking suspicion that there is more to play.

I *love* all the tributes to previous Contra games (mostly from SNES - Contra 3 and Genesis - Contra: Hardcorps.

Yes, this game is harder than Mark Martin on Viagra. I can't beat any of the levels, but my Contra skills were never my specialty.

i couldnt get the game too boot up properly......are you supopsed to remove the memory card when booting the game >??

b/c right now all i see is a blank black screen

Yes...after you boot it with you swap......you must remove all memcards........I didn't want my friend to release it with all the dvd checks in there but fuck it...we were shocekd when it worked on cdr......we had it working on dvd's..and were trying to get it to work....

i sitll couldnt get it to boot properly... even after i swapped the gameshark with the copy .. i removed both mem card and game shark dongle ..the screen remains black..but there is a flash in the screen as soon i removed the mem cards and dongle....
still no luck

ps2chimps released a patch for it, i applied that before i burned it and it works fine. aside from the memcard thing.

I just used a generic ADR patcher and it came out working fine. Just sort of wished someone would fix the mem card issue, but it's beta so it has to be expected these days that people won't spend time fixing things. I shouldn't talk though since I barely can do asm. Anyhow, great game. I played it a little, real hard to finish a stage.

I finished the game!!!!!!!

5 levels in total. I hope the real game has more..Everything seems complete though. Ending movie and credits intact, plus you unlock a bunch of stuff in the gallery and other things when you win.

Tough game, but totally beatable. Beware, the game has some glitches in level 5. (I had it freeze on me a couple times)

Anyhow, I cant go on about this game enough. Kudos to Konami for keeping it essentially keeping it 2D and also keeping it brutally difficult. (like the Sega Genesis Contra) Now WHY did they have to cancel their PS2 Castlevania project in favor of the Gameboy Advance version

I also had the blank/black screen when loading the game. I took out my memory card and remote control receiver and it now loads up the Konami logo followed by the Now Loading... in various fonts and then the game just sits there.

I have a Magic 2 chip. Could it be that the game had previously been patched to only work with a swap chip? i borrowed the cd from my friend who has a Neo 2.2.
