One of my mates has got a forcefeedback Sidewinder joystick, and it refuses to work with Flight Sim 2002. When you go into the controller options, there is a blank space where it looks like it should be. Using Windows XP home. Any ideas?

Yes. Its an almost brand new Microsoft game, designed to run with Microsoft peripherals. But being Microsoft, that doesn't guarentee anything!
Maybe it needs degaussing?
