Jic unlocker "cannot read original IMEI from phone"

Hi all.

I'm tryna unlock my 8310 v5.54 and this message is all I get.

Running win98se and have the mbus cable.

When I click unlock, the phone enters test mode and the display goes blank, then I get the error message.

Anyone know how I can sort this out?

Try another unlocker - www27.brinkster.com/rudeyute1/dct4.htm
The one by TechTron is supposed to work ok.
Personally use a dongle protected one, so don't know which freebie ones work well

ive heard the f\ware or sommit needs to be downgraded on some newer models(to unlock) is this true? and i have also heard there is a fix?? dunno but may need dongle.

yes newer than v5.57 needs to be unlocked by log or via downgrade first

My software version is 5.54.

It should work shouldn't it?

Anyone got any ideas why it doesn't?
I'll try the other one that rudeYute gave the link for in the meanwhile.

Hi,

Email me and I'll send you it, as Brinskter is under maintenace.
v5.54 is np to unlock with it. v5.57+ is not so easy.
