No More Resident Evil Games For Gamecube!!!!

OH HELL
as capcom have just been bought by microsoft
it doesnt look good for my beloved franchise!!
i really cant see this series carrying on being solely developed for the little cube
i fully expect our resident(no pun intended) xbox phobe to flame me, but think about it are microsoft gonna let this great jap selling game series continue being on the cube????

damn and i just bought a gamecube
still at least i have an xbrick too

i cant see it been true, as capcom is massive, it would cost m$ an absolute fortune to buy them, it would be in the billions easy

MS ain't gonna buy capcom , they've been already nice ****ed when buying Rare ... how would you react if you just bought an empty development studio , where nintendo removed all of his big licences ?
the fact is that MS wanna buy some names for his Box , but Capcom isn't dying yet , there's way much more behind its name than there was behind rares name ... rare was already dead when bought ...
so don't believe Ms gonna buy everything in the console scene , they're gonna fall from a big big height , and we'll all forget about them !

Microsoft is a company which has shareholders, if they buy a company then by law they have to make that information available to the shareholders. go here http://www.microsoft.com/msft/invest.htm then please come back and tell us all who the last company that microsoft bought was called (*HINT* its listed under aquisitions).

I, like other non idiots on this board will believe its a fact when its on that page and that page only.

ok lets wait for the official announcement and we will see whos right
big losses, a curtailing of original profit forecasts and a reavaluating of share values have led to this less than aggresive buy out
it will im afraid lead to the demise of the little cube
in this convoluted market place marketing budgets are everything
the cube is a nice bit of kit but where are the games?
i wish i had known of this development before i bought the cube but as a trader i have cash galore anyway
and the details of the buyout have been common knowledge if you are ahem in the inner circle

i agree, maybe its just his attitude, it realy does however sound very strange, that given the number of people within this forum that have links within the heart of the computer / console industry only he is a party to this information. Apart from which capcom are contracted to produce the res evil games for the cube (and since its one of their few money spinners at the moment, it would be foolish not to produce them)

Rare however, have now confirmed perfect dark zero and cameo for xbox only.

I'm not saying it is true or not - I heard the rumors and know there was talk, but M$ does have the capital to purchase capcom if they choose so I would not say it is impossible

Capcom reported big losses in its financial releases back on September 26th. On the 28th, we brought you the rumor that surfaced from Microsoft making a trip to Capcom headquarters in Japan, in which the intent was to make a bid for the company. In the latest development, Capcom seems hesitant to say they really have a financial problem that would lead them to be bought by Microsoft. The following statement came out of Capcom of Japan today.

"Capcom has made some financial adjustments in Japan that could cause the group to declare a loss in this fiscal year. The adjustments relate to extraordinary items related to real estate. This does not reflect any downturn in the performance of the general business of the software development and sales operations."

They indicate while this debt is a lingering problem, the gaming business of the company is still thriving, and thus Capcom is not seriously considering a buy-out from Microsoft. Microsoft had made the attempt to buy the company or make an exclusivity deal largely to boost Xbox popularity in Japan.

doesnt sound like a FACT to me, more like another xbox fanboy who's still living microsofts lies amidst their spiraling losses on their failing console.

dear god you are the most opiniated fanboy of all time
the gamecube sold loads of units world wide and i think its a great bit of kit, it pales when compared to the xbox
i own all consoles, i always buy new kit whenever it emerges
this is my 2nd gamecube.
I stand by what i said
the published resistance to the buyout is just a smokescreen
