    is there any tutors to show me how i can put i image as the layout on my website. i have been slicing it up on adobe then editing it with dreamweaver MX but i want to do it the html way imagine mapping i think its called any one know a site which can show me how to do this ??

    u cud try using ADOBE IMAGEREADY and doing all the slicing in that cos it will optimise the gfx and also create the html for you

    the html these packages create, I personally think, are rubbish. The layout they generate isn't flexible enough for the majority of sites I have done.

    your best bet, it to get yourself familiar with tables and create a template yourself.

    i got the impression he just wanted to slice and dice a large image into imagemaps and altho i agree about their templates i reckon IMAGEREADY would do the job he needs

    Graham is right, the html that imageready produces with the slices isn't ideal and I still use the old tried and tested method of guidelines and slicing the image up myself and drawing the table by hand on paper first, this gives you something to work from when you begin to write your HTML. Once you get into writing tables they are easy, it's just getting your head round them initailly that can be the problem. Always remember that tables are just grids made up of table cells and that tables can nestle inside the cells of other tables so that just about any image or layout is possible.
