I bought the VGA adaptor from Lik-Sang before it went down and have to say it's pretty terrible. Poor picture quality. From what i've heard you need to spend upwards of $100 in order to start getting a decent image. For the life of me i can't remember what my adaptor's called... Sorry!

yeah , they are actually "line doublers" what u actually need is a "transcoder" ... try a video converter from Audio Authority

Im in college so in order to save space and money i am using one for my PS2 and the Xbox.

The picture quality is above a "normal" TV but if you have a newish TV the picture is not as sharp and also as you will naturally sit closer to the monitor you will notice the difference but that quality is great.

The Xbox has slightly better quality as i believe it has a higher resolution ouput.

Even on games such as the PAL version of FFX which is plagued by borders on a TV, you almost get full screen gaming.

You wont be disappointed, and now that i am looping the sound through my PC to my DDS speakers its much better.

just posting to report on the vga box i just got
the picture isnt as good as i thought it would be but its acceptable
this might not just be the vga box's fault my monitor also runs through a kvm switch so theres miles of cabling
i mainly got it for convenience so im not to bothered about the picture quality but hard core gamers might not find it acceptable
also my monitor is not the best quality item so it may be better with a better monitor
but for what i want it for i cant fault it it has 4 inputs comes with all the cables monitor audio and psu and i got it from divineo

There are diagrams to make transcoder vga boxes for the xbox, I think they're designed by a german guy by the name of ken gasper or something like that, check out xboxhacker for details.
