    Default UT2003 waddya think?

Just finished setting up UT2003 on my 1 ziga hertz/5000tons'o'ram/latest-video-ddr-abc-123card....

Coz that's what it needs now

    played for an hour and...

maps aren't half as interesting as the original

weapons all seem to be pretty much the same

and it it's nowhere near as gory as the original UT

am I missing something? Or maybe I'm not "into" it yet?

    Regards (disappointed) Scruff,

hmmm.....I guess I'm the only one who prefers this version.

The more I play it the more obsessed I get. The Karma Rendered Death are awesome, different every time. Instagib is more fun now as you only get a "gib" if you hit dead on, still kills in one shot, but only bulls'eye results in a splattering of guts. Overall I think this is the perfect merger of UT and Q3.

True tho, if you want to play it with maxed out settings you do need a beast machine.

It runs at over 60fps for me on my P4 2.53ghz @ 2.89ghz with a Radeon 9700 Pro.

If you want a performance increase turn off Character Shadows and Dynamic Lighting.

I played it for the first time at the Live2002 show yesterday and it blew me away! I thought it was just awesome. Not the huge leap I thought it would be over UT but still amazing. The environments were just awe-inspiring...pity I had no time to admire the scenery as I was getting killed every 10 secs by the spotty anorak next to me

deathmatch is fun for say 2 or 3 ppl to play but if theres like 10-20 ppl playing then it could get boring cos as theres tomany ppl after each other unlike ctf where it fair and u arent gonna get killed every time u respwan

I will say one thing thogh. Although it runs slower for me it seems to more stable.

I'll see what my customers say. We have a LAN party in our shop next week.

    Regards Scruff,
