Well like i said if you didn't know the answer it would come out in your answer.
And i am afraid so , Yes virgina there is the same hardware in the xbox as in the PS2.
Sorry this is a good board , and i didn't mean to go over your heads. But the reason why I asked you is cuz there is no doubt your more knowledgeable than me.

If you mean they've both got a DVD-ROM drive, a power supply unit, and a circuit board then yes you are right, they both have the same hardware.
In terms of the physical architecture they are as different as a kangaroo and a fish!
If you want to see this for yourself check out the article that Ars Technica did a couple of years ago explaining the PS2 hardware and you will see that they are completely different - the hardware is *not* the same...
I dont understand why you keep posting these type of replies- no one else is. If someone posts techincal stuff thats incorrect or incomplete then I reply - its not a mines bigger than yours thing. I have both consoles and this is the Xbox forum. Please stop trying to make this into something its not. yeah , a tech forum where someone asked if he could play ps2 on his xbox ... really tricky obviously ... just answer him "no , because it's not the same hardware" , and go on ...
no need to argue wether ps2 is much better or not than the xbox ...
it's so useless ...
i can't remember ou told this earlier in this thread , but i totally agree with him : " hardware doesn't make a console , games do" !
Cheers
