    Default X-ecuter install problems!

Help me! I installed an ex-ecuter into my own machine and it worked fine. I then said i would do it for my mate but now that i've done it i keep getting the red/green flashing light which is followed by the "your xbox needs service" screen. Is there any way that i can check that ll the contacts are good? Could this be a bad chip? I've noticed that this x-ecuter is v1.1 and i actually find the contacts harder to solder!
Any suggestions would be much appreciated before i have to remove the chip - which leads me to my next question, what's the best way to take the damn things out if need be?

It seems its either this or the Enigmah.

Does anyone have experience of both..plus/minus
..how hard are each to install...etc

    Thanks.

yeah chernobyl, ther is no contest between the 2, no competition at all, x-ecuter wins over enigmah.

    1. has more features
    2. is easier to install, only 1 wire and 9 other easy solder points, enigmah is 29 wires
    3. has the hard drive feature to instal a bigger hard drive (enigmah dont)
    4. automaticly selects the kernell version (which is only 1 small jumper anyway, just a tiny bit easier)
    5. has the no reset on eject feature which is needed for certain homebrew software i beleive

enigmah was great when it came out, in fact i still have mine in from when they first came out, but the x-ecuter is just a better chip with a few more features and is easier to install

With the xecuter, do you need to falsh the chip first to do the hdd swap? As i am looking at getting the xecuter 1.1 and it says that the hdd swap is supported.

    Cheers

no m8 you dont need to flash an x-ecuter to swap the hard drive, just swap it, get the new hard drive preperer it does everything for you, alll you do is put in the drive let it do its thing and thats it, thats what it says
