If I was to guess, This isn't about colorblindness, this is about perception and the blindspot in your vision. This image is created and styled so that it manipulates your blind spot(Where the optic nerves reach the back of the eyeball) Wherever your blindspot is, it is never noticed since your brain compensates by previous images (ie your eyes peered over the picture) Your brain can compensate because it assumes the pattern. That is to say that since the whole board is checkered it will assume A and B, because of their locations, are their perspective colors. I'm not sure how the cylinder manipulates the image, but I'm sure it has a reason for being there..
