Default Are most news servers fugged right now?

I used to get like 82-90% completion rate on different servers(using Shaw's news server), then a short while back all of a sudden these numbers dropped to 14-20% complete(same servers).

I've been reading that something happened on Oct. 3 to worldcom(crash or something, i dunno, guess it's the backbone to a lot of newsservers), and that lots of servers have gone down the hill, and that's about when all my problems started.

    anybody know what's going on?

Yeah i got shaw and its really messed. I subscribed to a premium service(usenetserver) and everything is good there. I thought shaw is just shutting down the service. I'll come back to shaw as soon as its back up

^^ i don't think they're shutting it down. it makes no sense. last month i sent them an email wodnering if they were upgrading their stuff and going to have a highler completion %, and i got a call back saying that they were upgrading stuff and hoping to eventually get like 95% completion. makes no sense that 1 month later they'd pull the plug, esp. since they said that they were planning on upgrading it all
