Freeview, jointly run by the BBC and BSKYB will be the replacement for ITV Digital. Freeview is planned for launch on 31st October 2002 and is expected to include a minimum of the following channels:

Entertainment BBC One
BBC Two
ITV1
Channel 4
five
ITV 2
BBC Three (youth, launching 2003)
BBC Choice (until 2003)
BBC Four ( in-depth cultural channel from 7pm)

i wonder how much of that free to view stuff will appear on skydigital, or will it get drafted into the family pack same as itv 2!.

i did a find new channels and they all came in nothing on yet but some of the radio channels have a talking loop

its ok here,but itv1 was really poor y\day,but i think it may be down to my stb as it goes to a blue screen every couple of days?? or the menus play up,freeze ect

gotta b better than standard TV, and at least the service will keep going. Maybe it may encourage other companies to start broadcasting again, even if u have to pay. I'd be more than happy to pay somebody (anybody !!!) to get E4, Sky One, MTV etc again, without having to get a Sky MiniDish.

Can anyone tell me do you need a sky digibox to receive/view these channels or could I pick them up on my Humax 5400Z.
Excuse my ignorance if its obvious but I'm new to this digital satellite thing !!

Ya right Taker... Eventually they'll charge for it, they ain't gonna give this away for free, for long... Ain't No way, they come out with all this crap now, saying "Oh it's gonna be Free, No Subscription, No Catch." They'll say that for now, give it some months, or about a year, & they'll soon put a price on it...
