I have never tried CloneCD, but it sounds like a good format. Why isn't it used for every release? Does it need a certain type of burner, or something?

not always compatible, plus it doesn't always defeat the need for a crack.
if you need a \crack\ directory on a cd, then it just isn't going to be a "clone"
now go take your revenge on seattle.
That answers my question. Thanks.

also clone cd image are roughly 100 mb bigger than nero or cdrwin ones, wich make 100 mb more to up and 100 mb more to down, plus all the other issues already mentioned, you understand why no serious team use it.
I would like to ask a similar question. Why do groups use .bin formats? I mean why not use .ISO?
.ISO can't be checked for errors, while you can scan .BIN for corruption (like with CDmage).
Why does the groups include a crack on the cds? And why cant u run the cd without the crack?? Wouldnt it be better to have the original exe included on cd? Than problems with patches etc. wouldnt exist...
Gotta love newbie forums. The crack is included in addition to the original exe, hence the crack folder. The cracked exe is used to get around copy protection along with things like not having to have the CD in to play. Hope this helps.Originally posted by svdah93a
