Xbox live... Is this safe?

Please bare with me, its a sort of complicated question (Possibly skip the history)


History

I had a 360 about 2 years ago and it failed

It went back to MS and a different machine came back (but they transfered over my serial number)

Immediately, xbox live didn't work (after hours on the phone to MS I discovered that it was their fault - they had fucked up the serial transfer process - they said send it back and they would fix it)

I never bothered (ain't that bothered about live). I just re-hacked and used it offline.



Now

Back to current day, the xbox fails again and it goes back to MS

This time I get a totally different Xbox with a different with a totally different serial number


Question 1

Before I re-hack my Xbox, I would quite like to download Trials HD (after that i'm not really that bothered about live). However, to do so I need to plug in my Hard drive which was used for all kinds of shit on my previous xbox (using IX14). It was never banned on my old xbox (cause I never connected to live)... but it is full of game saves from dodgy games, which I don't want to lose.

So will my old HD & profile be safe on Live with my legit new xbox?


Question 2

If I spoof a differnt DVD drive and leave the legit one alone, can you flip flop the drives to use xbox live (as long as you aren't on live with the hacked drive in use?)

That should be ok, I have used two xbox's for a while since getting banned and swap the HDD between them.

Dont know it depends what info the Nand chip holds on the game's played.
