Lord of the rings protection, maybe ?

I have rent the game and copied it to my HD. The thing is that when I load the game, the menu is not showing (new game, option and so forth). The game act strangely. Any solution? Never had a single problem in the past

Please i need help !

Ive read that there is a fukt batch of this game and that many (originals that is) dont work. Maybe u copied a messed up one.

I've heard different things about the game. I heard that there was chip detection and that's why originals also wouldn't work, but at least 1 guy claimed to have made their own working copy using the conventional EvoX method. I don't thinks its sposed to be a great game anyway so I may not bother and save a dvd-r for something better.

I have copied this game and played it from the Hard Drive. There is no copy protection...Load of crap. This game kinda sux also so you ain't missing much

copied, burnt to DVD+R, tested, played for 3 hours, will never touch that PoS again.

People are paranoid, now when NOOBS make a coaster they blame copy protection. Go look in the mirror chances are the reason why the game doesnt work is staring back at you. So far there is none, i make all my games via FTP and they have all worked so relax.

There is NO copy protection. However, no need to look in a mirror cause your not doing anything wrong (except searching for the fist thread about this). The original game itself is fucked up. There is a patch and a fix (both do the same thing). You need to rename some directories and move some files around. The fix is meant for the ProjectX release, but I'm assuming that it's the same as an original. If the directories are the same, then it is. Use XDFSExtract and follow these instructions:

First fix...

1. Go to Scenes\Shire\Common_house_interioScenes

2. Change directory name to Common_house_interior

3. Go into that dir... There is a "Shire" dir... Go into Shire..

4: Copy the media dirertory directly to Common_house_interior

You path should look like this...

Scenes\Shire\Common_house_interior\Media

5, After that you can remove the Shire directory...

Second Fix....

1. go to Scenes\Shire\Green_Hill_Country_NScenes

2. change the name of this directory to Green_Hill_Country_Night

3. follow steps 3 and 4 for fix 1.

Third Fix ...

1. go to Scenes\Old_Forest\Barrow_downs_backsidScenes

2. Change the directory name to Barrow_downs_backside

3. Go into that dir... There is a "Old_Forest" dir... Go into Old_Forest..

4: Copy the media dirertory directly to Barrow_downs_backside

You path should look like this...

Scenes\Old_Forest\Barrow_downs_backside\media

5, After that you can remove the Old_Forest directory...

Final Fix...

1. Go to Scenes\Old_Forest\Barrow_downs_frontsiScenes

2. Rename directory to Barrow_downs_frontside

3. Follow steps 3 and 4 from the third fix...

After you get this done... Upload to your HD or burn to DVD-RW

In order to burn (for noobs), use PrimoDVD, select new job, data disc. Then click on options, select closed disc, and the option "UDF 128 filename lengh any char. 8+3 (Bridge)". Drag default.xbe over first, then the rest. Burn at 1x.
