Default An all time low - advertisements via net send (messenger service)

My Girlfriend's computer (on the shaw network, basic windows 2000 setup, no firewall)
has started getting those ridiculous 'University Diplomas' ads as pop up net sends!!! I always thought you could only net send within a domain or local network, but apparantly not - I did a test with a buddy also on shaw in a different city, and as long as you have an IP you can send someone a fucking popup. Cudos to M$ for their useful messenger service - now disabled.

yeah you can just disable the messenger service - still for someone who has no computer knowledge these popups are very very intrusive.

The new version of MS will probably block these out.. Ads have gotten really fucking gay lately, god I dont think I have EVER looked at an ad, was interested, and clicked on it..

Its not MSN messenger (or whatever their IM program is called) - its actually a base service that runs on NT/2k/xp that just is for adminstative pop ups.

Actually, there's an even better way.

    Administrative Tools/Services/WorkStation/Disable.
