but is PES2 supposed to be better then we6 or the same?

only one way to find out roll on release date!
i think there has been trouble with the dutch since this is football
i think the players wanted more money cuz they missed out on the world cup lol
and where people say it should be umbro, all around the ground in matches it says umbro
like people say tho wait for the release, but ive been happy enough on the for last few days

Now played the rip version and ive gotta say that you can tell the difference between this and we6:

It seems alot easy to get around defenders and then run away with the ball.
The ball moves quicker along the floor.
Seems that bit slicker graphically wise IMO.
Referees i have had are less harse - although ive read some ppl saying they are worse.

Gotta say the commentry is as expected not a patch on the jap pbp but gotta say at least it keeps up with play more than the pbp in pes1.

Overall i would say its defo the best soccer game out and a reason in its self to own a ps2.

    regards
    Yoz

I'm waiting for my copy now which is not good as i'm supposed to be getting a job but that't going out of the window now!!

Umbro are the official sponsors of the European version of the game Adidas only sponsor thw Winning Eleven brand.

It sounds like PES2 is eaisier than WE6 i hope this is not true because i was hoping they'd make PES2 even harder. Have to wait and see.

I got the DVD version and I am impressed. It is slicker than WE6 and the commentary is good (it relates to the game more). Also running with some players is easier - I found players like Carlos and Owen are much faster.
It is slightly different to playthan WE6 but definatley better.

I played Winning Eleven 6 to death and been playing the dvdr version of Pro Evo Soccer 2 for the last week and I have to agree that it feels much slicker than WE6. The intro is also a little different and you get the odd dodgy name on some teams but apart from that it does just "feel" better to play, somewhat easier.

It's a great game - played it first at the ECTS and I have a reviews copy on the way over to me (being sent today).

Have to agree with biggy i think the vesion that is out now is a beta version.

They've changed most of the national teams and most of the squads are the ones that went to the world cup like Sinclair in the starting line-up for England, but the club teams seem to be untouched. Apart from those bogus names!!

The main thing though is that the Adidas logo is still in the game there is no way that both companys would sponsor the same game. So i'm betting that the game we see on the 25th will have a couple more changes than the one we are all playing now.

Still the gameplay is great an i'm hooked already and thats all that i care about. Oh and the commentry sucks!

I think its just as hard as the WE6...the changes have been made to make it more realistic. E.g. In WE6 you could struggle as Brazil to put more than 1 by china if you were on a tough setting....PES2 is more geared to good teams hammering the minows and playing good football to get a good result against decent teams. Good new additions are the players dont go to ground everytime you slide tackle them. Corners are more high and looping instead of drilling them into the box (gives you team to attack the ball without just randomly holding down square). The lob through balls are more calculated also i.e. not all of them end up on the defenders head or in the keepers hands. Also the more skillful players like Ronaldo and Zidane can definetly hold the ball longer and have a better touch. In WE6 Zidane was useless. Commentry needs a bit of work but its getting there slowly but surely.

I think this is the final version tbh. The orange001 thing is to do with Kluivert and De Boer trying to sue every games company for use of their names. I think they've done this as a precaution.

I thought that the commentary was quite good. The commentators relate match stats to their commentry, and before the game you get told what each team has to do to qualify (when you are playing in cup mode).

Man the commentry is pretty weak...eg if I hear the word 'incident' again in the highlights im likely to bounce my pad off the screen, its pretty annoying. From what I can make out in WE6, the commentators only react to a highlight if the game can fully reckonise whats happened..."header at goal...unlucky not to score." That sorta stuff. Also the commentry is more like radio commentry instead of TV commentry. Just my opinion tho.

The commentry is awful. Compare it with what I've heard from Fifa, Pro Evo 2's commentry is so dire. Most of the time I keep the commentry off!

    http://weandpes.cjb.net/

Fixes Players Names (about 97%), Club Team Names and Stadium Names. It's not 100% accurate, although.
