Arsene Wenger said recently that Scottish Players ain't Good enough (Stating the Obvious)

But seriously though, 61% agreed with him... What do ya'll think about this, Think he's right or wrong. Or Do ya think that no matter what Manager Scotland ave, they'll always be shit??? Give ya answers...

Would have to agree that there has been a dearth of talent over the last decade or so.
Youth development was,and is,sadly neglected.
I think most of you down south would agree,that,Scotland has produced more than its fair share of good players over the years,considering a population of less than a tenth of yours.
I hope those days return.

Yep that's true m8... Scotland ave had some Great Players in the Past, but that's all in the Past. Unfortunately for U Scots... But there ain't shit anyone can do, except for the Scottish FA to invest more in the Youth System...

Yeah... I know m8, That's typical Wenger though, along with many other managers in the premiership... I don't support Arsen(H)ole, so I don't give a toss about em... But like many other English Premiership sides, they've got some Good Young English Talent, but don't use em... Look at Jermaine Pennant for instance, a quality Young Player, but how often does he get a game at the Arse... Same with Francis Jeffers, I don't rate him that much, but alot of ppl do. But the list goes on & on, for how many young english players that could be playing, but don't get their chance, cause of so many foreigners...

I agree with your other comments,its so intense in Scotland(as im sure you've realised),that there is very little chance of any good young Scottish player making the grade...unfortunately caused by the pressures of/on "The Old Firm".

Yeah... I know You weren't m8. I didn't take it that U were aving a go.

Hopefully they'll sort it out, I doubt it though... But they're gonna be in even deeper shit, if they don't sort it soon, cause the players that they've got at the moment, which are obviously getting older ain't gonna be there playing forever, & no disrespect, but they ain't even all that, except for the Odd Few... They definitely ain't no Ally Mc...

There were 5-6 English players in the Arsenal first team last year.

Think what he says about Scottish players is true to a certain degree because not much money has been spent on the youth programme.

If memory serves me right, Rangers only developed a proper academy for young players with the past two years.

With regard to foreign players there is also the flip side, is it the case that Rangers and Celtic are dominent because of the foreign players in their squads?

Heard that there were only 4 Scottish players on the pitch in the recent Old Firm game.

Sadly if you look around scotland you will see the product of Aberdeen's youth programe scattered all around.

Most of them were declared 'not good enough' for pittodrie and tossed out on their ear.

Still our youth policy is one of the best in Scotland, and will hopefully produce some half decent players - as we can't afford to buy anyone we are going to need it

i think in all honesty arsene's comments were more about the senior players than the youngsters, some how i cant see him on a school field at 9am on a sunday morning seeing if theres any future stars out there.

ive gotta say tho that i agree with wot u guys are saying, a lot of the problem is that theres not enuff money being invested in youth development, and when it does start to pay off the players at celtic and r*****s generally cant break in2 the first team and if there at other clubs they generally get regarded as crap cause they aint playin 4 the old firm.

on the flip side i think that berti vogts blooding the youngsters and the return ov the Under 21's will help the development of the younger players as they see that there are opportunities to make it to the international scene without being a "big name".
