My ps2 seems to gone wacko

It can play cd-rs, dvd movies, but not dvd-rs :S

Sounds to me like his DVD Laser unit is off... either pot screw or new Laser unit required.

Backups are allowed....and this is a backup issue, can it be laser if I can play normal dvd movies? I just want to know if its laser or not

Try the DVD-R's on a m8s console, if they work it's prob the laser, if not it's most likely the media.

ah ok nevermind. i got it to work,,, seems as its some features are gone but I need to do the swap,,,thanks...bought hopefully gta vice will be smaller then 4.3 ggis
