    Help uTorrent - Help Needed

I've recently bought a new laptop Sony Vaio and have moved to a new house. House has got BT homehub and connections seem good and fast. Speednet says Download speed is 5.88mbp, which i think is decent.
Only thing is, when i'm trying to download from utorrent the download speed cannot get above 12kb/s which is pretty god damn slow.
Am i being a complete numpty? is there a way to speed this up? should i use a different application instead of utorrent?

    help appreciated

yeah, its set to unlimited, download at 9.4kb has 112 seeds with 13 peers, surely it should be downloading faster. hmmmm

I never had any luck with torrents. Got onto Usenet and get over my reported download speed without fail every time.

Yep should deffo be much higher speed than your getting. Is it just utorrent thats being slow? Try downloadign a file from somewhere like megaupload and see what speed you get.

Make sure it's encryption is on as well.

Some ISP's can block/slow torrent traffic. Happens to a mate of mine on BT internet and he has to d/l torrents after midnight to get normal speeds.

Mate, I have no idea what that means, will have a google to find out though.
Before i went to work this morning, i started up the laptop, tried to download again and it started at 200kps then dropped to 8kps.
Do you think BT are regulating the download speed? I did hear that BT slow the D/L speed at certain times of the day?

Info Re: uTorrent - Help Needed

you will get slow speeds from the likes of piratebay & the like..IMO.
i use ace torrents & chronic tracker & as long as i keep ratio up i get about 1mb/sec
    in all.
try using bit che as search engine.
this is my settings for home(cable) & work(BT)

    dont randomize port.

    http://torrentfreak.com/how-to-encry...rrent-traffic/

A lot of ISP's traffic shape, but as I said I think BT Internet can specifically slow down torrent traffic. Going by what my mate says anyway.
