Proof, that most Rads are cockneys

A survey was recently carried out by a Professor from Manchester Metropolitan University's Institute of Popular Culture, as to what percentage of football fans come from the Manchester postcode area.

Statistics never lie; you just read them in away you want to fit your argument. Dr Adam Brown's report showed that 7,500 rag season ticket holders live in the Manchester postcode areas with around 6,500 for City. In percentage teams this means that City lead with around 40% of their fans local based locally against their 30%.

A rag site suggests that the jokes can stop and the myth that all red fans are cockneys will go away. Sorry but I think that one will run and run, wait until we move to our new stadium, and the capacity increases, therefore the season ticket numbers increase, proof will be inconclusive that we are the only team to come from Manchester, and not just by our playing location.

Well. First off, I'ma Cockney, & No offence but that survey sounds a load of Bollox m8... Sure, the majority of Manc Utd fans ain't actually from Manchester, but they ain't Cockney's... I don't know one Cockney who's a Manc Supporter...

with the fan base united have you really expect the majority of them to come from manchester? theyre one of, if not the biggest club in the world!

im a manc red without a season ticket aswell so like flick says, doesnt go to prove anything about utd fans and cockneys. i never understood the 'only team from manchester' thing either.

It does piss me off though working in London and they all suppoort Liverpool or Man.U. Then the dosey c*nts call me a northern monkey...d*ck's.

Yep, I agree m8, I can't stand Glory Hunters either... There's alot of Manc fans down here, But they ain't Cockney's... So the survey's prolly right about Man utd fans down in London... But the Manc Fans ain't Cockneys, just normal Londoner's...

I support Man City and I don't come from or were born in Manchester so I can't see the problem with fans outside Manchester supporting Manchester United, whats the big deal? The important thing is to stick by your team through thick and thin that is the true test of a real fan not where you live.

with an attitude like that and talkin to other city fans like that shows why city will always stay a little shitty failing club. bouncing between the nationwide and (if your lucky) the premiership!

You need to embrace your fellow fans from all around the country and indeed the world. the more people that "support" your team the more money you get to build fine squads and develop YOUR OWN ground!

Fans and supporters build a great club and that is why Man United is the Biggest in the world.
