I have recently moved all my pictures over onto another machine via a network, when i viewed them the other day, some have been totally currpted whilst others have large blocks of colour on parts of the photos and some are ok. how has this happened and can they be restored to there original state.

can you move some of them back to the old PC and see if they are still corrupted ? If so then you may be in trouble - if they appear OK then its an software issue.
