Something I've very rarely dabbled with but there's an abundance of flowers around the home (due to the G/F's gran passing away). Click the bar to show a sharper image.
A Rose
1/200th @ F4.5. This aperture used to deliberately lessen the Depth of Field around the edges.
Don't know what this one is - I'll call it the Purple Nurple
This one done at 1/200th @ F14 to Give more Depth of Field at a closer focussing position
This one was in the garden (nothing to do with the other flowers). Again, 1/200th and F4.5 to deliberately blur the background and provide a more abstract feel
Now this is a real attempt at an abstract image. Again, 1/200th @ F8. There is still significant shallow DoF due to the distance away from the subject (not very far)
Another Abstract. This time the Aperture was F4.5. Taken at a similar distance, you can see the blurring is significantly increased providing a very abstract feel
