    Default rar files

whenever you get an iso it's usually in .rar form, in 15MB parts. the extensions usually go .rar, .01, .02...till the last file. Whenever I make archives using winrar in 15MB parts the formatting ends up looking like <filename>.part01.rar, *.part02.rar ... etc etc. How or what are they doing to archive their files in that .rar, .01, .02 etc format? I hope im being clear enough.

They are using an older version of WinRAR such as v2.9. The rar naming changed with version 3.0. The older one was much better and the new one is gay. I don't care what anyone says.

I second that, it used to be much better. At least, they could give both choices with the versions 3.xx

    Oh well...

When RAR'ing into multiple volumes using WinRAR 3, there is an option to use "old style volume names" - that will archive them using *.rar, .r00, .r01, etc... Also, when naming the archive you name it *.001, it will archive the volumes that way.

another thing i noticed with 3.0 is that it takes a very long time to open compared to 2.x but it extracts it much faster. kinda weird but i guess its an ok tradeoff.
