    Tracker system

I am eagerly awaiting delivery of my new mitsubishi lancer evolution 7 arriving shortly from japan . I have been told by my insurance company that the vehicle must have a tracker device fitted .
I have looked into it and there is bloody loads of different ones .
Does anyone know which ones to avoid and the sort of costs involved ? , I would like a good one and dont mind the price , but know no-one with one installed , my sparky fits trakback ones and says they are good , but i have no idea , help appreciated .

trakbak is a good system2 things 2 look at,Tracking systems use 2 methods which both have there pros and cons radio waves which is mainly used by tracker on ther monitor and retrieve units work well the monitor having sensors to detect if the vehicle is towed or lifted, tracker rely on the police for detection on the monitor and retrieve so recovery is only as good as the police detection which I might add is very good.

2nd type trackstar trakbak etc use gps positioning using the gps and gsm systems + points direct real time tracking by a central monitoring station - points as it uses gsm to relay info blackspots can occur

One to look at is the Tracker horizon it uses both gps and radio

Cheers for the info m8 , just been informed that it will be here in 6 weeks . So need to get one sorted out soon.
Cant bloody wait , gone for one of the uk's first tiptronic gearbox ones so i hope i have made the right choice . Slower car and more expensive , but if you dont try you dont know . It only has to last till march though when the version 8 is out and i can swap it in .
Still want to keep hold of it in the meantime though , so i will look into the horizon , cheers m8 , well appreciated .
