3310 wont log onto networks....

Hi,
Was given a 3310 which had contact service on it, I did a complete flash and restored its IMEI number, unlocked it, it now powers on fine lets me access the sim card and so on.

but will not log onto the bt cellnet network (the only spare simcard i can use).. does anyone have any ideas?

could the imei of the phone be blocked?? if it is i will just give the phone back to the guy that gave it to me..

Hi,

You updated the FAID right?
If so, try another SIM - O2 would be best bet.

Just set the phone to do a manual network search, and it just stays on searching, eventually it comes to network not found

try uploading a virgin eeprom then put the imei back and recalc the faid if it still has same prob it maybe down to a pa fault(i think its common on these)

Shoulda detailed what i already tried.

Flashed a 5.57 with a virgin eprom, changed imei and updated FAID, phone was going onto autokeylock.

FLashed a different 5.57 again with a virgin eprom, phone boots, changed imei and updated faid, phone doesnt autokeylock, left it near a tv so i can see it searching for a signal but nothing, did a factory reset 000-00 appears on the desplay, its as if it doesnt have network settings, i 1st thought it was the flash, but ive used the same flash to update another 3310 and it works fine.

I made a dump of the entire phone and attemped to recalc the checksums (if the checksums were bad?) used nfree, but it couldnt find the mcu/ppu? i dumped 0000000 thru 4000000 (not sure how many zero's but it was the defualt setting in rolis 4.78).
and re-uploaded that back to the phone, nothing...

Dunno if this helps? but i went into the profiles menu then into personalise... then to screen savers and it could not find any screen savers!!!

can someone please send me a FRESH full dump of a 3310, blank out your imei.. as i will replace it with the phones one!! thanks in advance!

The phone was from orange....
