Got a New XBOX today..need advice

Hi I got my new XBOX today...ive been reading up all night about modding it and stuff. Can someone just clarify this for me tho....its manufactured on the 20th August 2002....does this mean ill have to hang on until the xecuter 2 comes out? Its a UK machine if it makes any difference.

I heard you could tell by the case. If its a matt finish its the old one and if its gloss and a slightly smaller case its the new version.

Please note: the manufacture date of your console as dates after July will have to wait for X-ecuter 2 IE: 2002-04-01 to 2002-07-30 that's OK 2002-08-01 onwards is not

Daft question here m8.! Why if you were getting a new Xbox to mod why didnt you buy a brand new Pre modded one.?

Cos im gonna do it myself, dont believe in the prices people charge to do mod it and I done the ps2 myself....also I didnt really research the whole v1.1 thing properly. All I read was that someone had already cracked it so didnt think much of it because the box I got was made on 20/8/02....ah well, live n learn as they say.
