anyone fitted one?
how easy is it for a newbie?
and what about stuff like tinkering with solenoids to sort the central locking?

Reasonably easy if you have a basic knowledge of electronics. The cebtral locking can be a bit of a pig depending on what system it uses. Some manufacturers of alarms used to include a video to show you how to go about it. Don't know if thats the case these days though.
Steve.
sdss i suggest you shop around mate. Depending on how much you have to spend you can get most alarms fitted included in the cost. The problem with diy fitting is that if it goes wrong and you take it back they will ask who fitted it etc. They then want to send the main unit back to the factory to have it tested (at your expense) to prove its faulty. In a word mate unless you know what your doing i suggest you save yourself the hassle in the long run and get a warranty worth the paper its written on from a dealer/fitter
Im off to a place of worship and wont be back till closing time
