    Default kenwood vhf transceiver question

i've got 3 kenwood tk-249 vhf fm transceivers (ex-local council) and i was told that they can be reprogrammed to PMR446 freq.

is this true?, if so could i do it myself? and how?????

PMR446 is in the UHF band I'm afraid, your radios are VHF.

I've got some TK-240's and they are good radios check out http://www.mods.dk for instructions on how to program them.

    Cheers,
