DVD+RW and Philips Drive

Well here's another media question for anyone who has tried it.

I have a Philips Xbox drive (yes the crap one) and a burner which only does DVD+RW.

I have tried HP DVD+RW, but get the dirty disk error, what DVD+RWs have you guys with Philips drives been able to run?

Any input in this matter would be appreciated (other than "Just try some out, I'm asking so I can save $30:rolls: )

and they all work first time everytime xbox and dvds, write at max speed

have you upgraded your firmware??? i think the latest is 1.60 or is it 1.06...checkout the philips web site under pcstuff and download the flash prog..

What brand of burner / model # dvd burner do you have?

I have the piece of junk Philips DVDRW208 and the also crappy Philips Xbox Drive.

Just wondering as I have heard other burners have had higher compatibility rate.

i have both the dvdrw1208+RW only and dvdrw228+R+RW

i dont know where your getting your "crap" from as i have found the drives to be 100% stable, fast and never made a coaster...

my xbox has a tosh dvd reader

crap because it only does +RW, other than that I have no problem.

well, the thing is that although +RW will always cost more than +R the balance has started to turn, as i have noticed some -RW's now costing more...

still its only scum that need cheap crap so they can get the most out of the people they are already ripp'n...
