For people with problems with xbox to PC connections

    Hi all
I had major snags for ages trying to connect my xbox to pc , I read all the tutorials everything, but one thing was not mentioned (Switching the crossover cable around).

now remember I'm new to all this so if I've just stated the obvious I'm sorry, but this worked a treat and no one has mentioned it before. I always used to get connection timed out error before I switched.

    I hope this helps someone.

    cheers............

Hmm, When you say switching it around, Do you mean taking one end out of the Pc and plugging it in the Xbox and vise versa, Can't see that would make any difference at all.

In theory it wouldn't make any difference. Unless your Lead is screwed. What transfer speeds do you get to and from the xbox?

Ps, Anyone else have any idea why this would happen? I am stumped :/

Only thing i can think of is maybe one of the plugs is dirty and maybe the socket on the pc NIC is dirty too and if you put the two dirty bits together you loose a connection but with only one dirty bit and a clean bit together you get it good enough to work.

Its a stab in the dark but its the only explanation i can come up with

    Maybe i am thick
