Dell Windows 7 activation showing as not genuine

Hi guys,

bought a dell laptop recently and all was running well until i started getting a popup saying windows was not genuine. I did a dell factory reset and had no joy. then i re-installed with the cd they gave me, and it was ok for a few days. Now the same issue is appearing. dell support arent being helpful - can anyone suggest what i can do next? im thinking of returning the system? its been over a month, so can i do this?

Hoping someone who works for dell can help me out!

Update your bios to the latest version then try a clean install. I had this with my precision t7400, it came with bios a04 which only had the slic 2.0 table. Upgraded to bios a05 which contained the slic 2.1 table and no problem.

Thanks for this i will give it a go tonight. Can u let me know where i can get the latest bios updates from and how to do it? I went to the dell website and it didnt say my bios needed updating

What version is the bios
Power on press F2

Download the bios from - http://support.euro.dell.com/support...dt1&l=en&s=bsd

Enter your Service tag

Download the file to the Desktop
Double Click and run the file

System will be prompted to reboot.

Let system reboot will get a bios Message Bios updating please wait , don't turn off pc ect.

once updated system will boot in to windows.
then do the reinstall as above

i have version A06 - according to the website i can get a11 which is the latest - im going to download that and give it a go.will let u know if that works.
