    Default DDR400 / PC3200 Memory

I've just ordered a Gigabyte: GA-8SG667 mobo which has DDR400 memory support.

The spec for the board says it only "supports" a few makes of memory at time of testing.

The bits are from Eclipse-Computers (http://www.eclipse-computers.com/) so you can see the spec

    I ordered the board and 512Mb 400Mhz PC3200 184Pin DDR Memory.

I was wondering if anybody knows of any issues with the new DDR400??

    Cheers

Not with that particular board (too lazy now to look into it, 'bout to go home) but I do know of some boards that cannot hold more than 2 sticks of DDR400 even if the motherboard can phisically hold 3 sticks.

IIRC it is something to do with memory banks and controllers, my memory is hazy but I think the last board i came across that had this problem was the MSi KT4 board, it could hold 3 sticks of 2700 but only 2 sticks of 3200.

Does that make sense, it should be as clear as pie.
