The easiest way is to use Adaptec Easy CD creator, in there you will find a small prog. called Spin Doctor. This software will remove most clicks and Pops, and even detect the gaps on an album and convert them into tracks on a CD. Hook your turntable to your p.c's sound card using the audio out on the deck and the aux in on the soundcard. Works well, I have done it loads of times, one suggestion, copy data to hard drive first, then to the blank cd, I made loads of coasters by the record sticking whilst doing it 'on the fly'
Get yourself a copy of Steinberg Clean my son that will do everything you need and in one version you also get the audio lead for your stereo to.
Check www.steinberg.net

You may also need a Pre-Amp between the the turntable & the sound card. B.Tech do one, Part no BT26

Spin doctor is ok, but personally I (and a few othersI know who do this kinda thing) would go for Cool Edit Pro, the filter and effects features are more proffessional and extensive, anything more than 190kbs is pointless though as regards mp3quality as you are not starting with a CD quality sound, plus too much playing around with the filters ect can take away the glorious tones of the vinyl and maybe you dont want to loose the odd crackle ?? dont forget to buy a new stylus before you start :-)
