    Default Peugeot 206 GTi

    Anyone own one of these?
I am thinking of buying one for the missus, and wanted to know what a longer term owners views on them are..

Any feedback, comments, links etc gratefully accepted

    Cheers,

Good car m8 , suffer from usual rattles that come in time from a poorly built trim , but generally regarded as a good car .
The gearboxes are prone to knacker up diff bearings on well hammered examples but this isnt a very expensive thing to overcome .
If you get a brand new one , beware of depreciation , this is a bit of a sod on brand new hot hatches , they will easily lose a third of their value in just over one year . Also imports have knocked the price , making a new import now cheaper then the book price on a second hand uk supplied model , so bargains are there to be had m8.
Good choice if you ask me , unless you can get a cheap secondhand renault clio 172 , this wipes the 206's arse big time , and could be well worth the extra cash .

Do a search as I posted a couple of 206 forums a while back for someone else.

I have one (2000 X - bought second hand last January), as Urbs says it does rattle a bit - it's not as quick as the 172 (and nor I believe is the GTi 180).

Reliability wise I've not had any problems with mine.

If you have any more specific questions fire away.

The GTI180 is the way to go, the GTI-badges on the 206 GTI does not belong in this model...i donīt think itīs a "real GTI".
