    Default Donnie Darko

well what can be said... i went to see this on the assumption that it would be a great film after seeing all the papers gave it good reviews... but to be honest i dont think we saw the same film!!

In my opinion the film never did get going, it is the most ****ed up film i have ever watched, its too dodgy, and to be honest i dont see the point in the film, it is a waste of time and money!!

The plot is about a messed up 18 year old boy who sees things... such as men in bunny rabbit costumes and liquid type lines coming outta people's chests... its weird!! One day the big bunny rabbit tells him that the world is going to end in 28 days, six hours, 42 mins & 12 seconds (as they do) and the film follows donnie and the messed up things he does and experiences in this time period.

When i went to see it at the cinema, i think the general outlook was that it was a crap film because its the first film in a long time where i have heard people shouting how crap it was, and a big group of people walked out about half an hour or so from the end.

Rating: 2/10 (for making me laugh @the stupidity)

<= The big bunny rabbit... "Thing"

    Totally agree with you.
I watched Jonathan Ross rave about how great it was on BBC1 - so i thought it may be good. But no.
I kept on thinking something really interesting was just around the corner, but nope.

Didn't like this film much ::thumbsdown::

no, there is nothing wrong with you mate.

I enjoyed this film, I can see why Jonathan Ross was raving about it, I think the bit where Donnie and the Rabbit are in the cinema was really freaky.

I thought this was wicked - almost made me nostalgic for the 80's

I did understand it, still thought it was poor though, I also want to know why his Girl in the tangent universe was unable to manipulate Donnie in the same way Frank did??

She wasnt there to 'manipulate' Donnie, she was just getting on with a normal life - whereas Frank was there for a reason.

Well i got it, and so did my gf, but we both thought it was a pile of crap, there is a story line there, but its crap, the acting is crap, the film in my eyes is simply... crap! There are films out there that are 10 times better than this!!

Dodgy, stick to films like XXX and James Bond... theyre probably about as in depth a plot line as you like to get...........:

If you have to think about it that means you hate it, right?

Im with Dodgy, IMO there was no depth ... it was just about the lives of a bunch of people with a confusing ending thrown on to make it seem like the film was clever.

Im all for Original films like Memento and Dark City but making something confusing doesnt make it good!

and its weird that a lot of people who praise this have no idea what its about ... Ive seen some people linking it to Christianity!??

All those who didn't like this film can just go and suck a ****.

I thought that it was a great film. Fair enough it was pretty weird but it was a nice difficult film to get your head around and it all came together nicely in the end.

    Top one.

... at the end of the day everyone has a different opinion when it comes to films, some people like a film, some people hate it... the purpose of this forum is to express your view / opinion of a film, and thats all i did... if you dont like my opinion fair enough, i dont care what you think!!
