How can I convert a CD-RW to a DVD-R?

My Xbox is crap at reading CD-RWs, and since the price of CDs vs DVD-Rs are similar, I want to transfer a CD-RW based game onto a DVD-R.

Is there any easy way to do this? Or do I have to copy all the files, create an ISO and burn a new DVD-R?

To be honest mate - you should be thinking about putting more than one CDRW game per DVDR anyway using the MenuX selector program. I think that if you image the CDRW's into an ISO on your PC you may have problems reburning them directly onto a DVDR but I havent tried so I cannot be 100% sure. I dont make Iso's from the games I rip and they work fine so it might not be such a slow process.

if you create a .iso file then it will reburn back to a dvdr and 99% of the time it will work, but as fe_man says try using menu-x to save on dvdr's.

I tried reading an ISO and writing it to a DVD-R, but it didn't work.

It said that the ISO was incompatable with a DVD-R.

Ulitmately, I am going to create some 'compilations' using EvolutionX, but for now, I just wanted to create some DVDs of my CDRWs so that I could play them.

try useing traxdata 10x cdrw's these seem to work ok on xbox

I do have some RWs that work, but the problem is that they arn't much cheaper than DVD-Rs and they are no way as reliable as DVD-Rs.

I think that its time that I made some compliations on DVD-Rs.

you need to use the newer version of nero 5.5.9.14 (or newer) which allows .iso's to be written to cdr or dvdr irrespective of original format.

Thanks, but last night I did my first 'compilation' using EvoX.

It very nice.. I put 8 CD based games into directories and created an ini file with 'items' for each game.

It works very well.
