    Default Cube 2 : Hypercube

The original Cube was a love it or loath it mindfcuk of a film from canada, now several years later comes its sequel.

The hypercube in question is a 4 dimensional cube, the blood and guts are far less but the suspense, suprises and quality mindfcuk is still there a plenty. Adding the fourth dimension takes this cube to another level with time and paralel universes thrown in you see living people discussing the fact they just watched themselves die, and dead people wondering why they just got there.

This time there is a connection between some or all of the protaganists and slowly all becomes clear. Its nice to see the fittest bird get her tits out and the little Jap woman is very nice too (but clothed throughout).

Its got the usual selection of misfits from a blind student to an old woman with senile dementure (very annoying) of course there is the requisite psychopath but thats not giving much away since you find out straight away.

Is it as good as the first cube? well not realy, the first one didnt realy leave much for a sequel but that doesnt mean this film is bad, in fact its bloody good in its own right.

On a side note the time coded screener is of exceptional quality for a well pre release movie so a quick dl is well worth it, i'm guessing but this film is probably better suited to home video than the big screen so if youcant watch it before i'd wait for the home video release.

    8.5/10 (original cube 9/10)

I saw this the other day and like ABCMan sez the quality is superb for a vcd. The actual film itself was good, to say it was all, but for a few scenes, filmed entirely in a cube/cubes.

I haven't seen the first movie so I didn't have anything to compare it with, but the film grabs your attention and keeps it right to the end.

Yep, and it does it well, which is pretty good going, because you have a bunch of "less-"known actors in a few rooms with settings Kirk would laugh at.

ABCMan said "8.5/10 (original cube 9/10)", and I'll second that.

    All the best

Sorry can't agree with you guys at all on this one

While the original Cube is superb and if anyone hasn't seen it then I fully recommend go and watch it now! 9/10.

This sequel just doesn't do it justice at all. They seem to have lost the whole point of the first one. The fact that we have no explanation for the reason behind the cube and was the whole beauty of the film.

Its also lost all the tension of is the room trapped, and how do we get out of here...

And don't get me started on the acting, just because its low budget doesn't mean we have to have bloody awful acting!

I fully reccommend anyone to watch Cube 1 but I also say do not watch Cube 2 it completely ruins the whole point of Cube.

    Cube 1 [9/10]
    Cube 2 [2/10]

i really enjoyed the original cube - especially the mystery ending because we never really found out what was going on - this one tried to explain that and made a very bad job of it - it was an ok film but not a patch on the original
You know he grew up as a little shitspark from the old shitflint and then he turned into a shitbonfire and driven by the winds of his monumental ignorance he turned into a raging shitfirestorm. If I get to be married to Barb I'll have total control of Sunnyvale and then I can unleash the shitnami tidal wave that will engulf Ricky and extinguish his shitflames forever. And with any luck he'll drown in the undershit of that wave. Shitwaves.

    1) no the sequel works fine on its own without the first one
    2) since this cube has 4 dimensions rather than 3 in the first it adds several new twists to the original story, there is still a little blood ang guts, just not as many however the effects are good.
