t68i cable - please help

Please can someone tell me what software i need if any to connect my t68i phone to my pc, at present when i connect it, my pc doesn't seem to detect it.
Also how can i check if my pc is detecting my phone, as i am not sure if i have bought a broken cable

What is it that u want to be able to do once connected? If u need to use the phone as a modem, u will need to install the modem drivers, which are on the disc u would have got with the phone, if not, u can download them from www.sonyericsson.com while u are there, also download the PMP progam, this is the sync s/w which u will need to manage you phones contacts/calendar etc. Without this s/w ur phone will not be able to communicate with ur pc!!!

thanks for the advice, i dont want to use it as a modem, i just want to transfer pictures to my phone from my pc.
i now seem to have all the software i need i.e. picture editor, and mobile phone monitor(mpm) however my pc is still not registering my phone, ive plugged it in and searched for it with the software but it comes back blank as if it is ot even connected.
a friend said he had a problem with xp recognising his phone and he had to disconnect his modem this doesn't mean anything to me............any ideas
do i need to do anything to my com ports to get them to transfer by going into the control panel or something???????????

what cable do you have ?

if it says T28 then its the wrong cable
if it says T39 then its the right cable. The liklihood of a broken one is very little,
