Default Could Format Active System Partition Windows 7

I have 5 sata disks in my pc and I'm running windows 7 I want to move the one named wii out of the pc and format it to FAT 32 so I can dump games on it. Now I'm unable to format the drive because the system thinks its an active system drive?

    I have

    Disk 0 - Movies & Games (G - Primary Partition
Disk 1 - Wii hd (H - System, Active, Primary Partition
Disk 2 - Windows 7 (C - Boot, Page File, Active , Crash Dump, Primary Partition
    Disk 3 - Apps (D - Primary Partition
    Disk 4 - Games (E - Primary Partition OSX (I - Logical Drive

What does it mean that the H: drive is "System, Active" what is this? I choose to install on the C:\ why would it use any of my other disks for anything other than that? Its preventing me from formatting the drive. If I remove it will it cause issues? I've heard you can just change the active partition. The drive is empty but there is 348mb used on it. What I want is everything to just be a primary partition thats not the C drive. Any ideas? thanks

lol at the smiley faces. And I'm not using dual boot or anything either!

edit could admin change title to Couldn't not could thanks

Was Wii in the PC when you installed Win7? If so, WIndows may have put the MBR (boot area) on that disk, even if the OS is on the other. Or, it may have been a Boot/System drive in another PC (e.g. under Vista or XP). Win7 won't touch these disks. To find out, see if the PC will boot with that drive unplugged. If it fails, then, er, you need to somehow move the MBR. Not sure on that. If if succeeds, then you just need a better partition manager that will let you mark it as a non-System disk. A reasonably good and friendly freebie is here: http://www.partition***********/download.html

posts 60 and your a vip and member since jan 2004, strange

Anyway thanks for the help i'll try and take it out the pc but that's the next problem lol.
I think if I remove it and it doesn't boot then I should be able to do a mbr repair with the windows7 disk and see if that helps. Its got to come out this disk. It was in when I installed windows 7.
