    Interesting!
If you slap these figures into the BBC number cruncher, it gives a massive LD majority:
    LD: 440 seats
    Lab: 88
    Con: 92
    Others: 30

he funny thing is that even with 22% of the vote, 'other' parties only win 30 seats, and most of those are the nationalists & NI seats. Only 2 English seats would be won by other parties.

Biggest shock definitely the difference between Lib Dem poll and Lib Dem actual result - they must be very very disappointed today.

On behalf of Scotland I would say to the 60% of English people who voted against the Tories - don't mention it, happy to help. Fucking disappointed with Wales though, the country full of miners that's now turned into a big Tory loving place. That makes no sense.

Genuinely no idea what's going to happen now. Paxman did claim that Lib Dems and Labour were in talks last night but it will make fuck all difference given the tiny amount of seats Lib Dems have.

You're clearly just stuck in the past mate, sounds like you just haven't moved on like us Welsh have and still have a chip on your shoulder about the tories.

Probably because, like me, they can't believe the British public have thrown away the chance for political reform and would rather stick with the same old corrupt system of unelected officials with no real mandate that we have now.

Personally I am genuinely upset about how this has gone. It was obvious we were going to go hung parliament (well, obvious according to the polls, but look how shit they were!), but I genuinely thought the LibDems would get more influence and thus really be able to push for electoral reform, which is what this country needs more than anything. Its just a shame people either can't see that or genuinely disagree - which clearly many do! For me, FPTP is dead and undemocratic and, as I said above, ends up with people making decisions who clearly do not have the mandate of the people - which for me is wrong in this day and age. So many people are disillusioned with the whole political system, yet when they get a chance to do something about it, they either dont bother voting, or vote the same way their parents have done, without ever really questioning. Don't get me wrong, I know PERSONALLY I will be better off under the Tories, but I also know a lot of people are going to be far worse off, and thats criminal. In my opinion

I'm impressed with Clegg again. Whilst Brown is fannying around pointlessly trying to form a government and following the constitution, whilst already trying to get the Lib Dems on side to break the constitution, and Cameron is trying to break the constitution by forming a government immediately, Clegg has told Labour to naff off and wait their turn before trying to form a coalition. They are going to try to give Cameron a chance first because he had more votes and more seats. That may not be what I agree with, or what he agrees with, but I know he is doing the right thing to represent the views of the country by trying the biggest vote-share ideas first. He must know there is a wider gap between him and Tory, but rather than going in the back door with a "coalition of losers" straight away, he's trying everything out. A Tory/LibDem mix could actually be quite good too, because they both have a few policies that are a bit mental with plenty of nice stuff in the middle.

It's a pity our constitution is unwritten, a formal procedure to actually deal with this properly would be handy just now.

Whatever happens I think could be good in the long term. Say what you like about the Tories (and I do) but they are right about one thing - if a stable government that can put through bills isn't formed, we're fucked. The best news for everyone is that that is only going to happen with some sort of compromise and middle ground, representing the country's views more than any one party could.

I'm a bit worried about Scotland now actually. If Tory or Tory based coalition comes to power, Salmond and the SNP is going to jump on our different political opinions massively. He's already come out saying that we should choose our own government because of this. It could lead to the same feeling south of the border too, as without us the Tories would have had a majority. Independence will do a lot more harm than any Tory ever could

It will be interesting to see what happens, I'm pretty bored of this whole election now cos it's dragging on but I'm still really excited to see the outcome.

John Major has stated that giving LibDems cabinet seats is a price worth paying for a conservative government. Basically Clegg should demand the ultimate prize, Vince Cable as Chancellor in place of that prize pillock, George Osbourne.

That and a referendum on an AV+ / PR system and I'd be a happy man

From what I can see George Osbourne has never actually had a real job AT ALL and we would put him in charge of our economy? Surely that has to be madness! My other big problem with him is that he is younger than me and looks about 10 years older! How can I support a man like that????
