The world reacts to City not qualifying for the CL

Why is the woodwork empty?
Oh that's right, all the spurs fans have crawled out of it.
Congrats to Spurs very pleased for them and glad they got 4th as they are a team we always beat no matter what so thats good for us.
In all seriousness though I can see that they have qualified for champs league (or playoffs at least!) but I really do think the all new coming of spurs and city have an awful lot to do with Liverpool having a shit season. The fact that the top 4 have been the same for how many years?????? I can see them being back where they usually are next season providing Liverpool get their shit together. You dont go from being a top 4 club persistently to being 2nd rate shit in 1 season. As much as people may think Liverpool had a freak season almost winning the title last year, I suspect that this season is a bigger freak season for them finishing where they have. Dont get me wrong I love it but I wouldnt get too used to it citeh and spurs.
Wank!

Fair play to Spurs last night they got their gameplan right, I was there and the whole Spurs were miles better than City last night match reports is a load of crap. The media love bent 'Arry he's trffick! It was very evenly matched Barry went off injured and we lost the midfield. Only Spurs looked like winning from there. Either team could have had a couple in the first half. City will sign a couple sell a couple in the summer and be challenging for the top 4 again next season.
I'm not convinced that the plan for players will change just because we haven't got top 4. Players will go for the money, plus the investment in and around City is huge. Work is already scheduled to start clearing land around the ground etc.
4th doesn't guarentee Champions league, just a chance at qualification and as Everton found out you can get a stinker of a draw in there.
Well done Spurs, but City will be there or there abouts next season.......
Personally I think we could end up with a "Big 2" next year and see a real battle between 6 clubs for 3rd and 4th. If we look back at how Arsenal with 6 games to go almost looked favourites for the title, and how they have imploded under even the slightest pressure, I genuinely think they overshot this season. Heck, maybe United did too.
A lot depends on who stays where and who joins where in the summer. Liverpool seemingly have no money, so can't buy without selling. Do Torres, Mascherano, Gerrard, Reina etc fancy another season of struggling when they could walk into almost any side in the World? Will City go stupid and offer a sum for Torres, Aguero, Ribery etc? Will Spurs be able to hold onto Modric if a big side go after him? Same with Villa and Milner? Will United sell Barbasackofshit and actually buy someone who can put the ball in the net? Its all very interesting, and I suggest none of the questions will even start to get answered until after the World Cup, though I sincerely hope Croatia's absence will see United pick up Modric quickly
Also think Spurs will have to sell, before they can buy as they have spent a hell of alot of money over the past couple of seasons. Their chairman vetoed a move for James in January due to lack of funds and he has previously stated that they do not pay high wages at Spurs relative to other clubs. May see them struggle in the market a little esp with the world cup inflating prices.
They have to qualify for the CL before they can rely on the extra millions, so I think there signings maybe towards the end of July when they find out if they have made it to the group stages or not.
Agree that Spurs,Villa and Liverpool may struggle to hang onto their big players if the likes of Utd,Chelsea of overseas clubs come knocking.
I'd expect City's siginigs to be from abroad as we have the home grown squad players covered
I think it will probably be Utd and Chelsea fighting it out for the league provided Utd sign a decent striker and center mid and Arsenal don't go out and sign a load of players then pick from City Arsenal Spurs Villa Liverpool and Everton for the next 5 places..
City leading the chasing pack of course though!
Its going to be interesting, especially with this 25 player rule
With a decent keeper, a quality centre half and bully boy central midfeilder (plus abit more luck not having 14 players injured for long periods of time during the corse of the season) arsenal have a very good chance to push for the title.
United suffered a bad injury crisis this year, months without our first choice defence, even resorting to Michael Carrick playing centre half and Darren Fletcher playing right back. Chelsea were missing Essien and the Cole brothers for much of the second half of the season, and who knows what damage the Terry incident did to the mentality of their squad. Both made it through to remain challengers, Arsenal totally bottled it towards the end, which they always do. Love or loathe Wenger, he's not a manager for a brawl.
