Ipod Touch LCD and Glass replacement

Just got a 2nd gen 16gb off a mate for £20. Its got a smashed LCD and front glass too so needs the glass bit and LCD from what i can tell....

Do i just buy something like this -

The above comes with No home button - is the home button a problem to swap over or should i look for something that comes with the home button too ?

Any ideas?

yes that's all that you need. You need to transfer over the home button and the little assembly that it's mounted to.

Cheers mate, will no doubt be back if i get stuck... just ordered the bits so will do this next week....

ok need some help, replaced LCD and fired it up but the new screen while it works when i plug back in the digitiser the colours are all off......its like really bleach white and half of the text/pics are faint and the no colours are right at all....

Any ideas? maybe duff new screen or could it be something else???

sounds broken tbh, they often go 'washed out' when there's a small crack

This is the new LCD purchased off ebay colours are wrong plus it looks like the text is faint/screen to bright too....

still waiting for a new digitiser as the touch part is broken too...

to be honest it looks like the plug might not be in properly

tried removing it and plugging it back in but still the same, just emailed the lcd seller to see about a replacement..

check the pins on the ribbon end of the lcd, seen this before when one has been damaged

Can't see any issues with them...... might have to bite the bullet and try for a replacement or buy another LCD ...

Is the cable on the right way? To me that looks like the colours are inversed... black being white and green being magenta?

Yeah the colours are the wrong way - cable don't seem to go any other way though not sure other than LCD faulty will see what lcd seller says
